Recipe: Cheese and Chilies Balls

Appetizers with herbs
January 15, 2010
PeperonciniMy chili plants are still producing few pods, milder but really tasty.
In the picture: Aji Amarillo, Numex Suave Orange, Trinidad Perfume and two Red Paprika pods.
I used all these chilies with some fresh herbs from my garden in this recipe.

I put the cheese balls over lettuce leaves (my last harvest of winter lettuce) and... do you think they look like a Christmas tree, or it's just me sick of Christmas nostalgia?

Cheese and Chilies Balls

Cheese and Chilies Balls

Ingredients
50g mild chilies
20 chives leaves
1 celery stalk
10 rocket leaves
2 dill sprigs
100g gouda
100g cottage cheese
lettuce leaves

Directions
Mince together chilies and aromatic herbs, then add the cheese and blend it until smooth.
Using your hands and a spoon, shape into six balls and put them over the lettuce leaves.
Serve with toasted bread.

Those two Aji Amarillos are the first ones from my plant after two years! They were delicious and I hope I have not to wait another two years.
