Waiting for licorice
Growing spices
January 14, 2010
Growing licorice is easy, but requires patience.
The roots can't be harvested until the third year of growth... this means this autumn for my plants.
Every winter licorice leaves and stems die, but roots continue to grow and propagate.
I just have to prune it, cutting away the dead stems.
I admit I bited a cutted stem and... yes, it had a light licorice aroma!
