Recipe: Homemade Sambar powder

Sambar is a traditional South India dish, made with legumes (daal), vegetales and the sambar powder.
Unlike the Curry powder, it's mild and delicate.
Let's take a look at the ingredients.
Homemade Sambar powder
Ingredients
1 red chili
2 tsp urad dal
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tsp black mustard seeds
1/4 tsp black pepper corns
5 curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
Directions
In a pan, toast all ingredients separately (except turmeric powder).
Grind all ingredients together, and store in a jar.
This spice mixture is used mainly for Sambar, a creamy soup with legumes and vegetables.

Suggested ingredients: turmeric, coriander, cumin, fenugreek, mustard seeds, black pepper, chili pepper, curry leaves, urad daal, coconut.
